The ceremony commemorating the 108th anniversary of the 10 August Anafartalar Victory, held by our Directorate in Chunuk Bair, started by Çanakkale Governor Mr. İlhami AKTAŞ, 2nd Corps Commander Major General Rasim YALDIZ, Dardanelles and Garrison Commander 5th Supply Colonel Mustafa ÜNAL, Historical Site Director İsmail KAŞDEMİR, the Australian Crown on behalf of Australia, Navy Military Attaché Colonel Benjamin ESLER and Çanakkale Australian Consul Harry HALL presenting a wreath to the Atatürk Monument. In memory of our martyrs, a moment of silence was accompanied by a shot of respect and the Turkish flag was raised with the accompaniment of the National Anthem. The speech stating the meaning and importance of the day on behalf of the Turkish Armed Forces was made by Infantry Staff Lieutenant Colonel Mustafa Fatih KARABULUT. The protocol speech was made by Mr. İsmail KAŞDEMİR, Director of the Gallipoli Historical Site. In his speech, the Director of the Historical Site, Mr. İsmail Kaşdemir, concluded his speech with the wish that the spirit of Çanakkale will always live and be kept alive in all our homeland borders; "I once again commemorate our ancestors and veterans who were honored with the rank of martyrdom here, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, with mercy, gratitude and respect." The ceremony was attended by Çanakkale Governor İlhami Aktaş, our Historical Site Director İsmail Kaşdemir, AK Party Çanakkale Deputy Ayhan Gider, CHP Çanakkale Deputy İsmet Güneşhan, İYİ Party Çanakkale Deputy Rıdvan Uz, 2nd Corps Commander Major General Rasim Yaldız, Çanakkale Dardanelles and Garrison Commander 5th Supply Colonel Mustafa Ünal, Rector of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Prof. Dr. Cüneyt Erenoğlu, Eceabat District Governor Mustafa Çiftçiler, Çanakkale Deputy Mayor Retired General Süleyman Canpolat, Çanakkale protocol, our veterans, non-governmental organizations and citizens.
