ÇANAKKALE IS IN OUR SOUL
We are living in 2023, a unique year of the 100th anniversary of our Republic. When we remember that the proclamation of the Republic, one of the important turning points in our history, was achieved with the opportunity provided by a unique victory on the Çanakkale front, it becomes apparent of what kind of relationship it is. The spirit of unity, solidarity and struggle that brought Çanakkale to victory and declared the Republic are the work of this great nation. We see that the heroism, courage, solidarity, unity, sacrifice and struggle shown by our nation during the process of achieving the Çanakkale victory come to light in all difficult processes today, as it did then. We use the slogan "It Is In Our Soul" as this year's theme to indicate that the characteristics we showed in Çanakkale which are still a part of this society's soul. Every ceremony held since 2018 has been held within the scope of a theme in order to bring together the ceremonies and celebrations held within the scope of the "18 March Martyrs Memorial Day and Çanakkale Naval Victory" organized by the Directorate of Gallipoli Historic Site throughout the country on a common line and to celebrate them with enthusiasm. The theme was determined as "Someone Is There" in 2018, "Çanakkale is a Stand from Resurrection to Liberation" in 2019, "Monuments Hidden in the Shadow of the Crescent" in 2020, "From Independence to Future Çanakkale" in 2021, and "On One Side of Us Is Always Çanakkale" in 2023. In 2017, it was designated as "It Is In Our Spirit". The fact that 2023 will be the 100th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic was influential in determining the theme of "It is in Our Spirit" for the 108th anniversary of the ceremony to be held at the Martyrs Monument on March 18th. The 108th anniversary commemoration program of the "18 March Martyrs Memorial Day and Çanakkale Naval Victory", carried out by the Directorate of Gallipoli Historic Site, will be held on 18 March 2023 in cooperation with relevant ministries, public institutions and organizations.
