In the opening program, speeches regarding the meaning and importance of the day were made by the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Hon. Mehmet Nuri ERSOY, by the Canadian Minister of Veterans Affairs, Hon. Lawrence MACAULAY, and by the Prime Minister of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, Hon. Andrew FUREY. Later, the Newfoundland Caribou Monument was opened with a ribbon cutting. After the opening, a wreath was presented to the Caribou Monument by Hon. Mehmet Nuri ERSOY, Minister of Culture and Tourism, on behalf of the Republic of Turkey, by Hon. Lawrence MACAULAY, Minister of Veterans Affairs of Canada, on behalf of the Government of Canada, by Hon. Andrew FUREY, Prime Minister of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador Province, by Hon. İlhami AKTAŞ, Governor of Çanakkale, on behalf of Çanakkale Governorship, by 2nd Corps Commander Major General Hon. Rasim YALDIZ, on behalf of the Turkish Armed Forces, and by other foreign protocol members. After the wreath presentation, a minute of silence was held. The national anthems of the Republic of Türkiye and the State of Canada were played. Afterwards, the ceremony ended as the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Hon. Mehmet Nuri ERSOY, the Governor, Hon. İlhami AKTAŞ, the Minister of Veterans Affairs of Canada, Hon. Lawrence MACAULAY, the Prime Minister of the Canadian Newfoundland and Labrador Province, Hon. Andrew FUREY, the 2nd Corps Commander, Major General Hon. Rasim YALDIZ, Director of tthe Historical Site, Hon. İsmail KAŞDEMİR and the attendants left flowers on the soldiers' graves.
