This cemetery is located on the main road under Çatlak Tepe (Mahmuzsırt No.2 Post) of the 3rd reconnaissance team 100 m north of the No.2 Outpost Cemetery. The thin and long mass grave dug by the Canterbury Battalion Nelson Company in September 1915 forms the basis of the current cemetery. The cemetery known as Şapka Tepe (No.3 Post) on Turkish maps contains 2 British soldiers and 150 graves of unknown soldiers who fought and died here. Special memorials were erected in memory of the 13 New Zealand and 9 British and Australian soldiers known or believed to lie here.
