It is believed that a Turkish artillery captain was interred at the martrys’ cemetery located on a slope inside the garden of the Directorate of Gallipoli Historic Site of the Battle of the Dardanelles at Çamburnu at the 1st km of the Eceabat-Kilitbahir road. However, no information is available to prove this presumption. The martyrs’ cemetery was placed in the middle of the cascaded stone blocks.
Diary of Münim Mustafa
“As we climbed the hill ahead of Eceabat; a squadron flew over us and made a tour. This was followed by a bomb explosion. I saw that the bombs have all exploded close to the wounded and patients at Eceabat/Çamburnu Hospital. I was trying to pay attention and understand. Which of the nations advocating civilization did possess these aircrafts? These have violated the international agreements on the bombardment immunity. That time I conceived that one must be stronger to survive.
