The 108th anniversary of the Çanakkale Naval Victory was held at the Martyrs Monument with the participation of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN. The ceremony started with President Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN presenting a wreath to the Atatürk Monument. The program continued with a moment of silence, the National Anthem and the raising of the flag. Following the speech of the 2nd Corps Commander, Major General Mr. Rasim YALDIZ, stating the meaning and importance of the day, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mr. Mehmet Nuri ERSOY, made his speech. Then our President Mr. Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN made a speech. In his speech he said: "The Çanakkale Victory is a turning point in which the nation, whose history is full of glorious victories, finds its true identity, lifts the dead soil sprinkled on it, and is reborn from its ashes like a phoenix. Our nation, which brought the most modern armies of the period to their knees despite all the poverty and impossibilities, with the epic it wrote in Çanakkale, has the faith and spirit of resistance that had brought victory to our War of Independence. In this respect, Çanakkale is almost a rehearsal for the War of Independence and the good news of the salvation of the Republic of Turkey. We see Çanakkale as one of the most difficult and sacred struggles of our nation for existence in these lands."
