The memorial can be accessed via the dirt road on the left side of the Nuri Yamut Memorial. It is located right over Keçi (Goat) Brook, and one of the reaches of the Gully Ravine was designed with a crescent and star figure.

The KOSB (King’s Own Scottish Borderers) Battalion landed on the coast located beneath Sarıtepe on April 25, 1915. Since this location was one of the weakest points of defense, they did not meet any resistance during the landing phase. Halil Sami Bey, the 9th Division Commander later deployed troops to the area between Krithia and the Gully Ravine. Both sides suffered heavy losses from massive fire during the battle. The Allies evacuated the region on April 26. Therefore, a poorly-managed landing operation (which was previously better planned) and large-scale strategic opportunities were lost. If the troops had the opportunity to advance farther, the positions of the defense troops would be denied, and the way to Achi Baba would have been opened.

In the course of the assault, the Turkish soldiers became the target of snipers and suffered heavy losses during the passage from Goat Track. The 3rd and 5th Divisions were stationed in the region of the Turkish assault that was launched on the night of July 5, 1915. At dawn, the losses of the Turkish side were heavier. The distance between the British and Turkish trenches narrowed to only 5 m. Almost 5000 Turkish soldiers were lost at this battle alone.
